Beginners are advised to take a break after 10 minutes of snorkeling, while experienced snorkelers should rest after 20 minutes to replenish energy and lung capacity.

Without professional training, unfamiliarity with the water environment can lead to nervousness and rapid breathing, quickly depleting the mask's air supply. Insufficient air intake can cause some users to feel breathless or even dizzy.
